Data loss is an existential risk

For most companies, data is the most valuable asset: customer records, orders, contracts, accounting, email, project data. Losing this data – to ransomware, hardware failure, human error or sabotage – can bring the business to a halt for days or weeks. In serious cases data loss is existential. A backup alone is not enough. What matters is whether the backed-up data can actually be restored – quickly, completely and reliably.

Backup as a managed process

ITS AG treats data protection not as a product but as a managed process. That means: we configure backup individually for your systems, monitor the backup runs automatically, regularly verify the integrity of the backed-up data and make sure a fast recovery is possible when it counts. Backup processing runs in our own data centers in Frankfurt am Main, encrypted and additionally safeguarded through the physical separation of the two data centers.

What we can back up

  • Servers and file servers
  • Databases (SQL, Oracle and more)
  • Email systems and Exchange
  • Virtual machines (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Workstations and laptops
  • Cloud data (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace)
  • Specialised applications upon scoping

Built for both perspectives

What reliable data protection means for your business

Two perspectives, one outcome: IT that carries reliably and stays transparent.

For management

  • Protection from business interruption – you stay able to operate
  • Lower economic risk thanks to professional data protection
  • More security and predictability for management and stakeholders
  • Trust in resilient processes – not just backups, but a plan

For IT leads

  • Fully automated backups without manual effort
  • Clear recovery processes with defined RTO/RPO values
  • Significantly less manual work on backup and verification
  • Modern protection mechanisms against ransomware and encryption trojans

How we work

From first conversation to ongoing operation

A clearly structured process — no hidden phases, no surprise invoices.

  1. 01

    Data and risk inventory

Which data is business-critical? What does each loss scenario cost? That defines RPO/RTO classes per workload.

  2. 02

    Backup architecture

Written concept: backup software, storage tier, geo distribution, retention policies.

  3. 03

    Implementation

Rollout in parallel to the existing solution, gradual migration without backup gap.

  4. 04

    Restore test (mandatory)

Full restore test in an isolated environment — not on paper, actually executed.

  5. 05

    Ongoing operation

Monthly automated restore test, quarterly DR drill, reporting to management.

Typical use cases

Where tested recovery makes the biggest difference

Three constellations we see often — and how we deliver in them.

Ransomware hardening

The current backup is online-reachable — ransomware can encrypt it too. We add immutable off-site copies.

Compliance retention

GoBD, tax records, patient data — long-term, tamper-evident retention with audit trail.

Cloud workload backup

M365, hyperscaler VMs or SaaS applications need their own backup — providers do not protect against your own mistakes.

Use cases

When managed backup pays off most

Companies with business-critical data and applications

Businesses with compliance requirements for data protection

Organisations wanting to professionalise an existing backup strategy

Companies rethinking their data protection after an incident

Frequently asked

What customers ask about Backup & Disaster Recovery

  • A simple backup saves data – but it does not guarantee the data can actually be restored when it counts. Backups are often untested, outdated or incomplete. ITS AG ensures that backups not only run but actually work.
